BeTwittered Gets a Minor Facelift
BeTwittered has gotten a few changes today. Most notable are a larger text area to type in your messages, and the counter to let you know when you’ve talked too much; well, really just a counter so you can tell when you are nearing the 140 character tweet limit. There are also a few behind the scene bug-fixes and changes. I now have a partner in crime, so BeTwittered is now benefiting from his big brain. …and, some new ideas are brewing. I think the next changes will be a bit more substantial…

Thanks for this essential gadget. I can’t get enough of twitter and now I never have to leave my iGoogle page to update
Hi Warren. I’m glad you like BeTwittered. I’ve had fun writing it, and am working with my buddy Scott to make improvements and hopefully a nice upgrade. We’re tossing around ideas right now, hopefully we can get some nice new features out pretty soon. Happy Twittering!
Hi and I agree, thanks for a great gadget!
I am using it daily as iGoogle’s page has basically replaced my desktop.
Just wondering, do you have any plans on implementing the Reply function Twitter’s web page is using since some time back?
That is the only other function I actually miss.
Again, thanks for a great job!
Good stuff! Having Twitter on my IG page is something I really should have done earlier. Your gadget seems to do the trick.
I do have to say that I noticed the gadget having horizontal scroll once or twice, but it seems to have gone away after rearranging my homepage a little bit. Hopefully it’s just an issue with my homepage layout, it’d be annoying if not.
Hi Sin.
Reply is coming!
I’m looking at some toolsets to use for adding some new feature. I want to keep the interface looking really simple, but add features in a way that doesn’t cause clutter. Hopefully very soon.

There is a bug that needs working out. BeTwittered is not handling URL’s very well, at all. When there is a long link, or one my code screws up, it can cause the horizontal scroll-bar. Once the tweet with that link scrolls out of your tweet list (20 tweets, btw) the problem should go away. SHORT STORY: My fault, we’re working on it!
Thanks for the comments and feedback!
oops. left a comment on your blog instead of here.
do you plan to create a similar app for facebook friends updates? because… I’m kind of addicted to it.

Hi Carter.
I saw the other post, too. (email notification of it, anyway) Sorry I hadn’t replied. My life’s gotten quite busy lately. At least it’s been “fun” busy :^)
Anyway, I hadn’t planned on the Facebook gadget, but had thought about it. I originally went looking for a Twitter gadget *and* a Facebook gadget, but had bad luck with both. Maybe that should be next?
What would you like a facebook gadget to do, in the most basic sense? Just show friend status updates like Twitter updates? That seems like the only logical way to go, to me. Maybe there are other possibilities, though?
Thanks! Robert
Yes… Ideally the facebook friends gadget would look exactly like your twitter gadget and would update me on friend status. I like the size, the layout, the pictures, the updated date just as you have them now. Would be cool to add them side by side and get basically the same look and feel. there really isn’t any other facebook feature I need to be “notified” of from google homepage.
